Datatype discrepancy between metadata and entity endpoints

Hi

Here we unable to perform a dataytpe validation as you see in the enclosed screencapture that the datatypes are different between the metadata and the entity endpoints. Why is there a discrepancy of this sort? Could someone explain please?

Hi @jayashree_radhesh
Welcome to the community  and thanks for being patient! Unfortunately, this topic fell through the cracks. Sorry about that.

I understand that the difference in datatypes between the metadata and entity endpoints has caused some confusion. The fields endpoints provide a list of all the fields that can be returned by the entity endpoints, but they may not necessarily contain all of them. Additionally, some fields are used internally and aren’t documented on purpose, which is why they may not be included in the fields endpoints. Therefore, it’s not recommended to rely solely on the fields endpoints for datatype validation.

I hope this clears things up for you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.
