Missing API for exports

Note: This is one of multiple posts about issues I’ve discovered while working depth with the Pipedrive API. A description of the use case and collection of all issues can be found at pipedrive-api-notes.md · GitHub.

It’s a bummer that I can’t programmatically create and download exports.

Great stuff! Thank you for putting this together

@dani My pleasure! I thought it makes sense to post 1 topic per issue so discussion can happen on each individual issue – otherwise communication might deteriorate.

Let me know if this or any other issue needs clarification!

Hey @ckofler,

I also want to chime in and express my appreciation for the posts. Our team is going through each of them and cataloguing them as well as bringing them to the attention of the right team.

Great work!

I would really like the functionality to create exports and then download them, so I can store them as a backup file locally. Really a bummer, as the op has so eloquently stated it!

I did find old documentation that an AI was trying to reference that referred to “https://pipedrive.com/api/v1/dataExports” but it is not available at all anymore. Any time this subject is brough up then we are pointed to paid affiliate solutions like here: Automated Backup — Pipedrive Community: Connect, Collaborate, Share

From the documentation I saw using the dataExports, you could start the export of any of their data points seen on “…pipedrive.com/settings/export” then after a time you could download the file that was created. I think they are holding it back forcing people to pay for the 3rd party paid affiliates there is no other reason I can find that they are holding this back.
