Setting up integrations for my company

Hello All,

I am a developer tasked with integrating our IMessaging API into pipedrive. Our API gives you full access to IMessage sending receiving capabilities. I am working on an app in pipedrive and want to know the current best practice for integration.

Question 1:

Deprecation of the messaging channel extension? I noticed this article saying that the messaging channels API is deprecated as of Febraury 1st.

Below is an example of what we wanted to build. I want to confirm, is this truly not doable anymore to build? If so any plans on alternative integration?

I have built a custom panel where you can message contacts. It is a sidebar in the contacts page. I’m assuming this is the second best alternative?

Question 2:

I havent done much research on all the best areas to integrate the API into pipedrive but could someone with a lot of knowledge about the CRM recommend areas beyond this that we could integrate into. I am aware of the workflows and plan on adding functionality there as well but any further suggestions would be great. I want to give our customers the most out of our app when they use pipedrive so any suggestions would be awesome.
